The MICASA study is devoted to learning about farm laborers’ health and how their work may affect their health. To learn as much as we can about farm workers, we perform different kinds of interviews and health examinations. We do these exams at no cost to participants, and we share what we learn with each person.

The MICASA project is following 420 farm worker families living in Mendota, California to discover the impact and the extent to which agricultural and environmental conditions affect their health. Mendota was chosen because of its location in the heart of California's agriculturally rich Central Valley and the large number of immigrant farm workers living there. It is our goal that the information found through this study will be used to design and establish programs to help improve the health of farm workers and their families.
